Positive displacement blowers move a fixed volume of gas by trapping and displacing it through rotating or reciprocating elements. They’re used for steady, low-to-medium pressure applications like pneumatic conveying, aeration, vacuum hold-down and process gas boosting. Buyers value rotor condition, clearances, seals, and drive components, as these determine efficiency, noise and longevity.
Inspect rotor surfaces, clearances, seals, bearings, and drive couplings. Check service history, wear limits, vibration logs, and whether rotors have been repaired. Verify inlet/outlet flange sizes, speed ratings, and any required certification for your application.
Use a carrier experienced with rotating equipment. Secure rotors, block shafts at rated lift points, protect seals and openings with caps and desiccants, and crate on a solid skid. Note weight, center of gravity, and any loose ancillaries to avoid damage.
Follow oil and filter change intervals, monitor vibration and bearing temperatures, check rotor clearances and seals periodically, and replace gaskets and packing before leaks develop. Keep inlet filters clean and maintain alignment of the driver and coupling.
