Inspect spindle bearings, motor condition, wheel and belt wear, coolant pump and tank, electrical controls, and frame alignment. Request test runs and sample pieces, plus service records and available spare parts.

Drain coolant and fluids, lock or block moving parts, remove fragile tooling where possible, protect grinding wheels and spindles, crate or palletize securely, label lifting points, and hire carriers experienced with heavy glass machinery.

Regularly dress and replace abrasive wheels, check spindle lubrication and bearings, monitor and treat coolant, inspect belts and guides, keep electrical connections clean, and perform alignment checks and preventive servicing.
