Check the frame and welds for damage, paint consistency, engine start and idle, oil level and color, compression/leaks, tires and brakes, suspension play, electricals, service history, mileage, VIN and title status. Test-ride if possible to feel clutch, gearbox and handling.

Run a VIN history report to check for accidents or salvage branding, verify the seller’s ID and the title matches the VIN, check for liens, and confirm registration status in your state or country.

Clean and document the bike with photos, secure or remove loose items, disable alarms, maintain minimal fuel, stabilize the battery or disconnect it if required, tape controls if needed, and note fluid levels and existing damage.
