Match the grapple weight and mounting style (pin-on or quick coupler) to your loader’s lift capacity and boom geometry. Check carrier hydraulic flow, pressure, and available auxiliary circuits to ensure proper operation.

Confirm the loader’s max flow (L/min or gpm), operating pressure (bar or psi), and whether you need flow controls or a relief valve. Cylinder size and required oil flow determine opening/closing speed and gripping force.

Look for wear on pins, bushings, and cutting edges; check for bent or cracked tines and frame; inspect hydraulic cylinders, hoses, and seals for leaks; and verify boom-to-grapple fit and mounting hardware condition.

Grapples are shipped on flatbeds or lowboys, often secured to pallets or skids. Know the weight, length, and transport height for permits. Prepare a lifting plan and proper rigging points for safe offload and mounting.

Grease all pivot points regularly, tighten mounting bolts, replace worn pins and bushings, inspect and replace damaged hoses, and keep hydraulic fittings clean. Store dry and touch-up paint to prevent corrosion.
