Description
The RO Polisher system is designed to receive RO permeate at 70 F. The RO permeate is pumped at the rate of 20,000L/hr to an RO polisher feed/CIP tank. From this tank it is pumped by a Alfa Laval (or equal) centrifugal pump a filter and then to two Alfa Laval (or equal) pressure pumps. At this point the feed pressure is elevated to 250-400 psig and then fed to the membrane section where it is then concentrated by a 3 array reverse osmosis polishing system utilizing spiral wound membranes. Temperature of the product is maintained at 70°F during concentration by a loop coolers piped in the loops. The retentate exiting the plant is controlled via flow ratio control using magnetic flow meters on both the feed and retentate product lines, associated valving and controls to maintain the Polisher feed stream.
The system is designed for clean in place operation. Chemical dosing is done manually at the feed/CIP tank. Total cleaning time after a full day’s production is estimated at 3-4 hours.
