                  Spray dryers convert liquid feeds into dry powders or granules by atomizing the liquid into a hot drying gas. Common in food, pharmaceutical, chemical and detergent production, a spray dryer includes an atomizer or nozzle, drying chamber, particle separation (cyclone or baghouse) and a heating system. Buyers evaluate throughput, inlet/outlet temperatures, atomizer type, material construction, CIP/GMP features and automation when selecting new or used equipment.

                  What should I inspect when buying a used spray dryer?

                  Check the atomizer (rotor/nozzle wear), drive motors, seals, control panel, insulation, chamber corrosion, cyclone/baghouse condition, spare parts availability and process history (what was dried).
