Verify model, capacity and refrigerant compatibility, electrical specs (voltage/phase), running hours, and service history. Inspect for oil leaks, abnormal noise, overheating signs, and damage to mounting or electrical components. Confirm parts availability and serial number for warranty or records.

Use a specialized freight carrier, secure the compressor upright on a pallet or crate, protect electrical terminals and shaft, and cushion against shock. Label orientation, drain or secure oil if required, and comply with refrigerant transport rules if unit contains refrigerant.

Perform periodic checks of refrigerant charge and leaks, oil condition and level (if serviceable), electrical connections, motor amps, and vibration or noise. Replace filter-driers and inspect suction/discharge lines per manufacturer intervals. Follow OEM maintenance schedules for hours or seasonal service.
